Hi everyone!  This school year is my 22nd year of teaching, and my second at WMES.  Prior to teaching at WMES I worked in the Colleton County School District.  I graduated from Walterboro High School in Colleton County.  I have a BA in Elementary Education from Clemson University (Go Tigers!!), and a MA in Speech Pathology and Audiology from SC State University.   I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Exceptional Needs/Early Childhood since 2007.    I have been married for 23 years to my husband Robbie, and we have two children.  Our daughter Daryn is a sophomore at Georgia Southern University, and our son Kyle is a junior at Colleton Preparatory Academy.  I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and all things outdoors - tennis, horseback riding, boating, and sports events to name a few.  I look forward to a great year with my students at WMES!!

Parents, please look for text or email invitations to join my Remind group for announcements and updates.   Also, I will be sending you links with a student code to join Seesaw, an online app that will allow me to give speech assignments and monitor your child's progress.  You can contact me through the Remind group or email at rhooker@dd4.k12.sc.us if you have questions.
Welcome back from Spring Break!  New assignments will be shared with students and parents electronically through either Seesaw, Remind, or email.  If you need paper assignments mailed to you, please contact me via Remind or email.
